Siphateles bicolor (Tui Chub)
about the species
Tui Chub are minnows with several subspecies endemic to inland drainages of California. Their native range spans nearly the entire latitudinal range of California. Two subspecies, the Owens and Mohave Tui Chubs, are state and federally listed as endangered. Both subspecies have been driven to the verge of extinction by introgressive hybridization, competition, and predation by introduced species.
